Position Title: Accountant

Location: Glen Mills, Pennsylvania

Reports To: Controller

POSITION SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

PPG is seeking an Accountant to join our finance team. This position will support the month-end close process and prepare monthly results for review by the Controller. Additionally, the Staff Accountant will assist various areas of the accounting team as needed including general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and treasury management. We are looking for someone who is resilient, with a strong work ethic and a hands-on mentality. 

CRITICAL OUTCOMES

  • Accurate and timely reporting of monthly results to senior management
  • Treasury support to achieve weekly banking reconciliations and daily cash flow projections

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare journal entries, detailed account analysis and roll-forwards in conjunction with month-end close
  • Generate monthly results reports for review by Controller and Senior Management
  • Reconcile banking activity weekly and communicate any discrepancies
  • Prepare daily cash position for cash flow forecasting purposes
  • Maintain accurate company control documents and standard operating procedures
  • Assist team with new project initiatives
  • Support other accounting functions (i.e. AR, AP) as needed

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • 2+ years of experience in a Staff Accountant role
  • Public accounting background

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
  • GAAP experience required 
  • Public Accounting background 
  • Cost Accounting experience preferred
  • CPA preferred
  • Must be able to drive account reconciliations
  • Audit experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Microsoft AX a plus, but not required
