Position Title: Operations Supervisor

Location: Glen Mills, PA

Reports To: Operations Manager

POSITION SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

The Warehouse Supervisor oversees all warehouse activities, including shipping and receiving materials or goods, maintaining inventory accuracy and recording warehouse transaction. In terms of managing warehouse worker force, the warehouse supervisor will hire and train new employees, assign work, evaluate individual performance and resolve quality and accuracy issues.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinates with Operations management and supervision on all quality issues to identify potential issues with inventory variances during the order fulfillment and/or receiving process
  • Promote and enforce safety policies and procedures
  • Apply supervisory responsibilities, company policies, procedures and applicable law
  • Ensure availability of resources to accomplish department tasks and goals
  • Oversee the supervision of the daily responsibilities of the assigned department
  • Maintain inventory accuracy by developing process controls and potentially counting processes
  • Resolve product or service problems by clarifying the customer’s complaint; determining the cause of the problem; selecting and explaining the best solution to solve the problems; expediting correction or adjustment; following up to ensure resolution
  • Ensure the timely entry of all transactional data for inbound and/or outbound material and all material movement within storage locations
  • Effectively correspond with all levels of management and between interactive departments within the organization
  • Maintain a good working relationship with all members of the Company
  • Develop, Maintain, and perform training on SOP procedures for job duties and responsibilities
  • Develop & Utilize reporting tools to provide analytics to management regarding the performance of the cycle count program
  • Develop & Prepare key reports as required for task analysis and performance of various aspects of the operations
  • Oversee the custodial and housekeeping duties are completed daily
  • Continuously evaluate warehouse layout to ensure the most efficient work flow, storage capacity, equipment and workforce utilization possible
  • Make recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Minimizes waste through identification and implementation of cost control/reduction measures
  • Adhere and administer to associates established company policies and management commitments
  • Rotational Saturday coverage is a requirement

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Working knowledge of warehouse systems, processes, and procedures
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate with associates/management
  • Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the supply chain and/or warehouse distribution field such as, 5S, LEAN, Six Sigma, Visual Management
  • Has experience operating and /or supervising warehouse powered industrial forklift equipment operators
  • Ability to perform simple math calculations
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow directions/instructions/work procedures/safety rules
  • Ability to operate various office equipment as needed
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics A/X preferred, but experience in WMS applications required.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

  • College degree in business related field preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • Must be comfortable wearing all leather work shoes or equivalent, safety eyewear, and occasional process or equipment specific personal protective equipment as required.
  • Must be able to use basic manufacturing and distribution tools and equipment
  • Examples (not a complete listing): manual tools, power tools, torque guns, gages, assembly fixtures, manual pallet jacks, electronic tapes machines, RF guns, bag sealing machines
  • Must follow established safety practices and correct unsafe work practices on the job by informing the supervision of potential risks

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Must understand software such as, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook
  • Must be able to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted. Must be able to walk while carrying tools, parts, materials, bins, etc.
